About Us

Formed 11 years ago by the late Arnold Boddy, we sing for the love of music and meet weekly on Thursday evenings to rehearse in Menston near llkley, West Yorkshire. We are lucky to have choir member Dorrie Clarke as our new Musical Director, and we are supported at some rehearsals and at all our concerts by our talented accompanist, Mike Nicholas.

Our performances are mainly to support the raising of funds for charity or to bring entertainment to those who can no longer get out and about; although we undertake private requests from time to time such as singing at weddings. We travel too but mainly perform in the Wharfedale and Bradford area. Over the years we have helped raise over £10,000 for a number of different charities and are currently fundraising for Cancer charities

Our members come from a variety of backgrounds and some travel quite long distances to join in. New members join from time to time and we were glad to welcome into our fold members of Horsforth Ladies when their choir disbanded a while ago. New members are always welcome, and if you are interested in joining us contact our secretary see 'Contact Us', we currently have vacancies for two sopranos and an alto. Our musical director is looking forward to hearing you sing.

We have been fortunate over the years to be supported by the award of funds from Menston Parish Council, Shipley Area Panel Community Chest and the Spooner Trust which has been used to buy new music.

We have produced a CD of a concert performance which we have been selling to raise further funds for charity. If you are interested then contact us.
